Reading Room/Community Café, Hendy
The Community Council owns the Reading Room in Hendy. Originally built in 1869 as somewhere for working men to catch up on the local newspapers, its function developed into a library for the village. Once closed, the building was purchased by the Community Council and has since been redeveloped as a community facility.
The Reading Room now host a Community Café (Open Wednesdays to Saturdays) and is a venue for meetings and training events.

Tycroes Village Hall
The Community Council helps support Tycroes Village Hall. The Hall is run by a committee of volunteers and is a focal point for community activities in the village of Tycroes, such as the annual Christmas Wine and Mince Pie Night. Between 2011 and 2015 the Hall was given a major renovation and an extension was added to increase the number of meeting rooms and provide a kitchen for Hall users. This was done with the financial help of Llanedi Community Council, Carmarthenshire County Council, and Betws Wind Farm.
The Hall has a large space for public bookings, and two smaller meeting rooms (5-10 people in size). Events such as birthday parties and coffee mornings are very welcome.
